Student Data Privacy
Pursuant to ACT 677 and ACT 837 of the 2014 Louisiana Legislative Session, Benjamin Franklin High School (the School) is posting information regarding the transfer of students’ personally identifiable information (PII) to private entities who provide student and other educational services to them. The links below identify the entities with whom we have contracts or relationships, pursuant to which, PII is transferred. By clicking on the name of each entity, you will find a Vendor Profile detailing the School’s relationship, a written contract or agreement (if one exists) and an addendum to the contract or agreement to address the requirements of ACT 837. It is our hope that this page will give parents and guardians that the School is committed to safeguarding their child’s personally identifiable information.
Additionally, you will find links to the Orleans Parish School Board and LA Department of Education websites to illustrate their commitment to safeguarding student data.
All complaints related to the suspected unauthorized transfer or sharing of personally identifiable student information should be submitted to Mr. David Ferris, Academic Assistant Principal or Ms. Allison Bent, Chief Financial Officer as detailed on the vendor profile form of which the suspected violation relates. Please include the following information in your complaint:
- Complainant’s first and last name
- Complainant’s telephone number and/or email address
- Name of contract to which the complaint relates
- Brief summary of the suspected violation
